Garth McQueen 01/24/2003 08:46 AM It was a cold wind that blew on the Ice Palace this night. It spoke of the icy competition that was to come. It was unfortunate to play on Sheet 1 but as mentioned in earlier notes, this team has made the leap: we are strong, we are wise, we are the front end. Oh yea, Bruce and Mauro are right there too. To be fair, it was a game between #8 and #9. The standings would indicate there was very little difference between the two. And yes, the game promptly displayed this as being correct. They gave us points, we gave them points.. end of the game: tied in points, tied in ends. That just left Bruce looking for his sister to kiss. All in all, a regular night: everyone had some good and some bad. We are still ugly but we hold our heads up high. PS: we are the #9 team and I fear the spring slide will not be great enough....... Mark Pioli 01/24/2003 09:00 AM Letter to the Editor Who buys the beer when its tied? curious in Welland Garth McQueen 01/24/2003 09:17 AM Everybody gets deep pockets when there is a tie. However Mauro did buy me a beer. He is a good skip. Mark Pioli 01/24/2003 09:21 AM Do I get a sense of stratum1 and stratum2 bonding, this can be what it takes to propel the team late into Saturday. Garth McQueen 01/24/2003 09:24:38 AM I teared up but tried not to show it. Re Sat: there are many definitions for propel and late into Sat has a different meaning for everyone (ie. I could sleep late into Sat morning before the banquet!!)
