Garth McQueen 03/21/2003 08:30 AM Mark, these are dangerous times in a dangerous world. You have heard world leaders say "The Time for Diplomacy is Over" and other ones say " We will not got to War" (wimpy little french men). Well let it be known far and wide this team is at WAR and the time is now (well, actually last night). This fearsome fighting machine brought out all the big guns: Rocks in Play, Weight, Sweeping and Shot Calling. The ground trembled under the weight of these weapons ( I really think it was Bruce and shedding a few pounds would help). After losing the coin toss (as per custom), the march began: a steal in 1, and a steal in 2. Now Mark, you must understand we are B division and we were playing a legit team who placed higher than us (10th place). The dreaded opposition took 1 in the third and our battle cried was louder then Braveheart's war cry (or my cry at the end of that movie...yeech). We marched from the 4th end right to the 8th end stealing points in every end. This battalion was battle ready and good to go (I know I was tired). The team was going good when: In the 6th end up 7-1, we had two rocks in the house (back 4) and they had 1 at the back 4. TSN announcers would have called for the removal to keep the game simple. This was the motion put to our skip. Some times soldiers are called to Live or Die but Never Never Question Why. So we didn't and I thought we were dead. But no no, the fearless skipper ended up correct again and we stole another point. Congrats to our team and we pee ed on the opponents tires in true Scottish tradition. Our opponents were CAA and by the sixth end they were asking for Gold memberships for PDG. I know they went away mad because the lead drank my beer and left. Yes Mark, all victories comes at a cost. It just happened to be my beer. (but that didn't stop me from buying Stratum 1 a round). Looking forward to our next challenge, Lieutenant Private Corporal Major PS. All thoughts of an anti war protest (Bruce wanted a Sleep In) were put aside. It seems playing at 9 brings out the best in these boys. Mark Pioli 03/21/2003 08:50:05 AM Congratulations to the troops , night time fighting seems to be the way to go. Just remember the big game will be on Saturday Morning....... If I get a chance I will send more viagara to the front line for these night games you and Bruce can divide them up. Reserve - waiting for the call
