Bruce Clark 11/07/2003 08:03 AM Mark: It would appear that FDR was wrong when he said that there was nothing to fear but fear itself. The biggest fear from last nights game was that there would be no edition of the Pioli Papers. Last nights gathering began on a somewhat frantic note. It would appear that the Tivoli scheduler module was not operational hence the scheduling conflict. A call was placed to both myself and Mike at 06:20 p.m. to in the words of our fearless leader: (It would be best if you screamed the following out loud to really understand the passion) "Come quickly,Come quickly" Mike, never one to pass up an opportunity for premature ejaculation, pulled out, pulled up and pulled one for the team Mike was first to the curling rink, followed closely by Mauro.(very close) Another lost coin flip had Mike in the hack ready to deliver the first blow. After that was done Mike proceeded to deliver the first shot of the game. With a mighty heave the rock was sent down the sheet right on line. I realized that some sweeping might be in order and commenced sweeping my ass off. I bent over the broom (while Mauro gazed affectionately at me) and swept like I have never swept before. Mauro realized I might need some sweeping help cause I think I actually saw his broom move even though he was 80 feet from the rock. The rock gently glided to a halt only 40 feet from the hog line. The usual "nice rock" comment was made as the rock was kicked into the collection area. The game went downhill from there!!! As Mike would later comment: "Just when you think you are understanding this game it jumps up and bites you in the ass". This from a guy who is 0 for 4!!!!! The game was close until we gave up a big end of 4.The other skip made a great come around with barely a centimeter of clearence. Thanks Quadboy for getting a woody and measuring. I realize that this review is taking a long time but thats what 2 power failures will do plus the fact that the hydro went off in Welland quicker that Mike can say "Thanks honey,I love you too". Mark,in closing 2 things.Hurry back,I see a losing trend when you are not there even though Mike indicated that you only show up when we play the blind, aged and handicapped. The other thing is don't ever leave me in charge of the Pioli Papers again.Even if you and Garth are not there, make up some lies!!!. p.s. we lost 8-6 and took 5 ends. p.s.s. I realize now how Charles Lindburg felt during his solo flight to Paris. Mark Pioli 11/07/2003 09:45:39 AM Excellent job Bruce, Your comment about the Tivoli scheduler module was very funny and you captured the fact the Mike is winless. The only thing I must comment on is where was McQueen, apparently he is screening his calls, when my name came up on his call display he obviously didn't pick up. Last weekend when I tried to call him he didn't pick up either his excuse , my brand new tv and surround sound system was too loud and I didn't hear the phone. I hope this wasn't the case last night as the team really needed him and he was a no show.
