Garth McQueen 01/30/2004 08:39 AM Yes gentlem it does read 24 unlike November when we were 0-4. However this 24 means two for one,, yes 2 Papers 4 you. and I thought you would read more quickly if I said 24. Previous: Crawling from the surgery room of the Niagara General, I made my way back to the ice to assist our team. Bruce was off investigating Illegal entries or something perverse like that (gee, Mark, I think I was thinking about that last night during desert). Well at any rate, I had to play third, leaving the Half Brooms to manage the front. I must say they did well for having only 1 broom between them. I will say at this time, as a third I was not detremental to the team and actually had some shots. I will testify today (because for Bills Fans it is Testify Friday), that holding the broom for Mauro proved to me he was curling well. Actually, Mike, contrary to what you thought, Mauro curled well right up till you dropped the Hiroshima on him " Don't screw this up" you said as he was sliding out. Well he missed the shot, they stole one and went on to win the game. End of story and Mauro blames Mike entirely. Mark and I have said nothing because we all played well, and it was a very close game againsts a skilled team (well most of them). This week: Playing the Midnight special was not our pick of the draw. Playing the 5th place team was not our pick of the opposition. We thought all the good teams played early. Well Bruce was back from tracking BackDoors, so we were lined up in our winning formation . Mark and I were in the front and as we did before we tried some more team unity. We went to dinner and desert on our own to see if it would turn our fortunes. Viola, I think we have a new formula for success. Even in loss you will be guaranteed to feel better. Now unfortunately, I had a few beverages which unlocked the competitive spirit. Apparently, I was little voicestrous on the ice which disturbed Bruce and Mark. Too bad for them, for my outbursts were not about curling, but rather the warm memory of our team function...." Harder Harder, looks Tight, Lean on it.....We gotta open it up"" all curling terms to some, much different to others. Well once they learned not to listen we took control of the game (which was immediately) and walked away with 6 ends and a victory,.......and we also walked away from Mauro and a full beer. Mauro, I have to tell you know because I couldn't last night, but Mark was a little tired and as you know it was a little late. You see Mark just got a new BIG SCREEN TV and it seems it is drawing out the energy in his body. He told me he hasn't been able to move for days!!!. Good job to the team and it seems we will have D division all locked up. We are all looking forward to the second season (first one has sucked). Belated birthday greetings to the Bruce Man and he is well into the second half of the century. I actully did see a little packet of Blue Helpers in his coat pocket. Go gettem Rocket Man. Mark Pioli 01/30/2004 08:39 AM " I had a few beverages which unlocked the competitive spirit" It also unlocked some type of gaseous fumes. Voicestrous yes but Bruce and I were worried what was coming out the other end. Bruce Clark 01/30/2004 08:59:59 AM Mike: It is so appropriate that Garth envoked a ww2 view. It you will recall from your history class that during the D-Day invasion (June 6 1944 in case you forgot) the allies laid down a confusing smoke screen in an attempt to foil the enemy. Well Garth and Mark took a page from history. After consuming vast amounts of beer and medium wings they proceeded to lay down a stench so bad that the opposition was dazed and confused. It was no contest after that but it also had an adverse affect on Mauro and I.We took the big one for the team. It is also interesting that Garth brought up the "harder, harder" verbage. Garth and Mark before the game were viewing naked bodies (non-female). I was concerned about bending over as they were giving me and Mauro the eye. Hurry back, its your turn to take the big one for the team.
