Garth McQueen 11/05/2004 08:49 AM Subject: Pioli Papers - Nov 4 - Enterprise Edition - Expanded version - Qtrly Dear Mark: I was reminded last night that we are not the only curlers in this company and it would be best to recognize that our team (C-Flight Champions 2003-2004) are brothers in a larger community....CTFS Curlers. Yes Mark it was thrilling to down our victory beer and move over to cheer our compatriots on. It was unfortunate that our busy schedules didn't allow us to stay for their full game, but since the plan was to just watch till they got one point, no one wa nted to be up till midnight. The other CTFS team is called Canadian Tire Rocks. Not sure where the Rocks part comes from but I have few ideas. They are a relatively new team searching for their style. As you know Mark, this is a tricky game comprised of many elements. I must say, I did see these elements in many forms last night. Perhaps a few suggestions could assist: 1. Rob: True that the Bow and Arrow is very popular in Cayuga but in curling it is best not to SLING the rock down the ice. Place the rock in front and push gently, no extra points are awarded for having the rock land in your own back yard. 2. Blake: Good form but the old "Push" rule applies and yes please don't stand with Rob, the other curlers can't see the clocks...timing is very important. 3. Scooter: First off, thanks for taking off the Touque, it didn't confuse your opponents but it almost blinded us. 4. Paul: Or should we say Saint Paul, you will need the ability to keep above the frey this year, however, we must pass on the stories of a previous skip of ours who kicked rocks and threw brooms. No matter what don't go there, oh yea, not watching the next sheet helps to portray confidence. Well the curling season is on and our community of curlers continues to grow. We should wish everyone good luck this year Mark, The game can be cruel so remember everyone the JACK story.... one rock at time is the only way to come back.and then there's the Mark story.... 5 beers can make a champion out of anyone but you still get a headache later. I don't forsee the Enterprise editon more than Quarterly so I hope no one is offended but this has been going on for a few years. And for anyone who is offended....go see Arnold Swartzeneger.... he will talk to you about Girly Economics and Girly Curling. Good luck to everyone. George Jensen 11/05/2004 09:06 AM Garth, Would you know if the smell present in the North building today has anything to do with last night's curling ?
