Garth McQueen/CTAL/CTC 11/19/2004 09:14 AM Mark: Perhaps the southern states had it right. Alcohol is a deamon and I am ashamed to say the deamon entered my life last night at supper. This deamon is a mean one, one that distorts your vision and as you know Mark, that is really dangerous for someone witha bionic eye. Mark, I was so light last night that Bruce yelled at me (with his stare..I'm calling HR) all night. He said if my shots had of been any lighter they would have lifted off the ground... which could have suited his brushing technique now that I think about it. hankfully, Mike seemed a bit more at home with the Devil and had a good night, I think he goes to the same GYM as you (arm curls all night long). Though not heavy, Mike and I did have all the rocks in play, praying for the ICE TEA TEAM to bring in a sobering win. They were valiant but in the end came up short (yes there is a theme here). Before the game Mike and I discussed the strategy, which was to let the back end have more responsibility. We felt we had been carrying the load too much over the last 3 games and they needed the opportunity to show leadership. As you know Mark (being so close to HR Land) personal development does take time and Mike and I will be patient with them over the next few games. We really think the next two games will e their telling point. Ok..let's talk about the game.... CTFS-6 Broom Handlers(plus pros)-8 Ends: CTFS 4 BH 4 Lead 100%, Second 95%, Third 30%, Fourth 75% It was the dreaded 7pm draw where you never get your weight down till the 6th end (that would be on a sober night). We struggled early in the night and surprisingly we were able to come back to be sitting down one at the end of 7 (7-6). To the strength of the entire team, we showed patience, didn't give up and clawed our way back from an earlier 5-1 defecit. his is a great sign so early in the year. Now it must be told also that our opponents picked up 2 players for last nights game. I saw both of them going into their lockers after the game, and I am positive they had a lot of trophies and badges in the lockers. Yes, they picked up some ringers, that's for sure. This was good preperation to go against the Sparrow Lakes team next week. Though victory eluded us last night, this team did only bend, it did not break. We will be back. Perhaps by then Bruce will be able to open both of his eyes. I am sure one has clamped shut from glaring at me last night. Hey, I just thought about why. I bet you Mark he had a promise last night, and was pissed when he had to use up all his strength. I guess I should go over to him this morning and apologize for sending him home with a limp broom. Oh well, at least he has gloves. Bruce Clark 11/22/2004 07:26 AM Mark: Sweat was flying, blood was pumping, significant effort was being exerted. This was in the Rex prior to the game. Mark,I knew we were in trouble when Garth and Mike discussed calling for a cab to get to the game. Nothing more needs to be said!! Mark Pioli/CTAL/CTC 1/22/2004 02:45 PM Bruce: I took Garth to the Bills Game yesterday and after seeing what the effects of alcohol has on people he may never drink again. He is scared straight. Ask Garth about the 2 new friends he met that are going to help him move from Chippawa to his new Condo, Mr. Haywood Jablome and Mr. Craven Moorehead.
