Mark Pioli/CTAL/CTC 10/21/2005 09:30 AM Subject Pioli Papers 2005/2006 Season Opener Edition All week long, the curling team wondered how they would replace Garth Mcqueen Thursday, in the biggest game of the season -- Remax that's right Remax on opening night -- they found that player. While Mcqueen will not be easily forgotten, he was replaced Thursday night by nobody. Prior to the game Remax kept looking at the door, looking up at the bar, wondering ... where is Garth? Their worst fear had just come true Garth was not playing. As they tossed their febreeze air fresheners to the side (*Extra Strength* to combat Garth's flatulence) they were ready to go. The speed of the game was remarkably quick without waiting 10 minutes between Garth's shots The game started the way you would of thought a quick steal of 1 by Remax. The next end we were down 2 more. Lightning then struck Mauro made a take out and we were only down 1. Remax didn't know what hit them, they were already packing their bags to call it a night. The game went back and forth, I must say the rust was showing on the Remax team. Going into the magical 8th end we were tied with last rock....... I made 2 shots second and third stones Bruce made 2 of 3 first and third stones.(Our 2nd was curling at a 100% clip). Mauro made all three. Do you believe in miracles we WON......unbelievable. After the game as Bruce and Mauro were selling 50/50 tickets I had time to reflect as I was trying to open the peanut packaging. We will probably never see a game like this again. A tear fell in my beer(peanut hit me in the eye) wishing Garth could of been a part of this What a great night... See you next Thursday, can you say A flight champs..... Bruce Clark 10/21/2005 10:14AM Mark: I have never been more proud of our team effort last nite. Even better than when we won "C" fight. I would not even say we were shortstaffed. We were in the zone man!!! As Mauro and I did the 50/50 Garth you have to do the 50/50 for the rest of the year. Garth McQueen 10/24/2005 09:50 AM Mark: I thank you for taking up the torch and delivering the Paper on time. It truly reflects your grasp on reality and the ability to see the talent on this team. I am very hoepfull for this year. It appears that your workout program is far ahead of last years. I can remember quite clearly lifting you to the benches from the 5th to 8th end knowing you had that Italian inflamation of the shoulder. To be at the top of your game so quickly this year in comparison to being at the bottom of your broom last year is quite an acommplishment. Congratulations. I too have been on the Mark Pioli fitness program and look forward to this weeks game, knowing what a difference it has made to you. Once again, I can see why SI continues to publish your works of art. They are truly art as Art will always be in the but hole of the beholer. Bruce Clark 10/24/2005 09:55 AM It would appear that the jig is up. Garth has discovered the truth. He now wants to play Mr. Colostomy with Mark Mark Pioli/CTAL/CTC 10/27/2005 10:55 AM Subject Pioli Papers - Lineup Changes I know I am only the lead, but I think I should be made aware of line up changes. I happened to bump into Dave Burns who told me Mike was curling. This is piss poor communication that team members have to find out the line up from talk on the street. Mauro as team captain/skip I hold you responsible, I am just ashamed at the other 2 team members. I quit again Apologies in the form of alcoholic liquids may help in changing my decision. Bruce Clark/CTAL/CTC 10/27/2005 10:56 AM Brother: Not to worry.THe team will provide!!
